This summer, students from all over Beaver County will learn the basic principles of entrepreneurship in “Biz Camp”.  “Biz Camp” is a partnership between the Community College of Beaver County, Franklin Center of Beaver County (formerly Aliquippa Alliance for Unity and Development), and Entrepreneuring Youth (formerly the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship’s Pittsburgh office).
The program participants learn the fundamentals of starting a business, and then create a business plan based on their individual interests, talents, and skills. The program culminates with a Market Day, where students are able to sell their products to the public, and a business plan competition which is judged by local businessmen and women.  Throughout the camp, participants benefit from presentations by local entrepreneurs and field trips.  This summer’s Market Day will be held at the Beaver Valley Mall on Thursday, August 4th from 3pm-8pm.
